Chat solution
The chat is a solution used by the hub members to communicate with each other is now Tchap. The French government is now hosting his own server of Matrix tchap.gouv.fr.
If you want your login to be of the form:
- @name-inserm.fr:agent.education.tchap.gouv.fr login with your INSERM account
- @name-ens-lyon.fr:agent.education.tchap.gouv.fr login with your ENS account
- @name-cnrs.fr:agent.education.tchap.gouv.fr login with your CNRS account
The advantages are
- the same as element (end to end encryption)
- hosted by the DIMNUM
- every public servant can create an account (it’s very easy to find anther user with it’s name)
- ENS agents can log-in with their ENS account
- part of lasuite.numerique.gouv.fr
- It’s the default chat for CNRS agents (no more Citadel)
- You can easily invite external people with their mail (they will have an external account with less right).
Tchap is end-to-end encrypted. Don’t forget to create a backup of your access keys to avoid losing access to your old messages.

You can message the following people to get an invitation to the LBMC channel:

Chat client
With the multiplication of chat solutions, the hub members recommend that you use Ferdium to connect to Tchap.
Ferdium is a free and open source solution to put your services in one place available on Windows, Mac and Linux. Head over to https://ferdium.org/download to install it or use the package manager of your OS.
You will be able to connect to Tchap, RocketChat, Element, Slack, Discord, Whatsapp, Telegram and more.
